This scholarship is to honor the memory of Alvin Lance Vanzandt and for students who have a strong belief in themselves, a definitive grasp on what their future will be and the desire to be an integral part in future leadership. Candidates should be confident in what they can accomplish in furthering their education and not quit until goals are achieved.
This scholarship is open to high school students in the Jefferson County area that have a 2.5 or better GPA (transcript required) and is interested in pursuing a career in education. Candidates are asked to complete an application as well as a 500 (or more) word essay explaining their hopes and dreams outside of continuing their education. We really want to know the person to whom we are awarding the scholarship.
This scholarship aims to honor the memory of Barbara Lavergne, a person who gave of herself at every opportunity. Candidates should care about the community and the needs of others. Candidates should be member of organizations that require community involvement particularly helping others.
This scholarship is not limited to one area of study but is open to any student wishing to further their education or acquire a trade and is open to all high school students in the Orange County area that have a 2.5 or greater GPA. Candidates are asked to complete an application as well as a 500 (or more) word essay explaining their hopes and dreams outside of continuing their education.
